What are we doing here?

The main theme of CS is to share links you find here. By doing this you are doing a few things. One you are becoming a huge help to Christian website owners by helping them build traffic and helping to expose a website to people who might of otherwise never known about it.

CS is meant to be a jumping off point a kind of portal website if you will,  for visitors to find new and interesting websites then share those links with whoever they want and to use the power of social networks and content discovery networks to help get the word out about Christian websites and other related type content such as news other Christians are following.

Great how do I start?

First you need to get one of the web’s most powerful tools. StumbleUpon.com You need to sign-up for an account with StumbleUpon.com and then install the toolbar they have.

This single act is one of the most powerful link sharing tools a single user can have.  Because your one single click will bring anywhere from 10 – 100 people to the same link your visiting. Should one or more of those people click the “I Like it” button then that can bring 10-100 visitors and so on it’s truly and amazing technology and every Christian should be using this! If you want a great way to helping get the word out and building a larger visitor base for Christian websites you need to do this!

Ok, so you have your account for StumbleUpon.com and you have the tool bar installed.

Now just go to any website link, preferably one you found on ChristianStumblers.com

Let’s use GodlyDesktop.com as an example. It’s one of our network websites, why not plug it huh? ;)

Now your on a website, now reach up to your new StumbleUpon.com toolbar …

Now click the “I like it” button! Or as we geeks call it thumbs up it…

Hold on to your seat you just sent a ton of traffic to that website. Because users at StumbleUpon can select categories they like people with like minded interests as you will now be viewing this link you have thumbs up.

If you come to a link that has not already been submitted “I Like It” it will pop up a page for you to fill out.

It will  ask if the website is “Safe for Work” if it is (tsk tsk if your not) click the Yes button, then just under that it will ask you for Tags. Which when you click in this box it will give you options and a drop down box to find even more tags.

Christianity is in there, as well as other Christian related tags.

Some basic tags you can use is Christianity, News  Just look though there they have a bunch for just about every topic. Using Christianity for anything Christian related is just fine.

One other note is an advanced tip. You can add multiple tags.  You simply put a comma between them.   Like for the GodlyDesktop.com page  you can put  Christianity, Photography    and whatever else you think would fit.

Awesome I’m Stumbling now, What Else?

Well you can share and recommend posts/links on the main page of CS by clicking the “Recommend” link (must be signed in to facebook) Recommending links is fun and good, but sharing links on facebook is far more powerful. You can click the little facebook icon under any post/link and share it on facebook which will make a post in your updates on facebook.

You can also use the little Twitter icon or the Tweetmeme (the “Tweet” count on right side of any post) to share these posts/links on twitter as well.

We have set this up so that on each post and link there is all your share controls right there. The most important one is to click the website links you see on CS and use your “I like it” button to bring the most visitors to a site, but the others are also very useful. Specially the facebook and twitter shares.

WAIT!? I’m very confused or I just don’t get it yet!!
